Making of

A little insight with photos and snapshots during our portrait shootings

with interesting people and their very own story...

Couple shooting with Judith & Niklas

Four travellers on their way. A chance meeting on the Spanish Atlantic coast. Once again. Because we've met them before. Six months earlier in northern Portugal.

Judith teaches history and sport to children with learning difficulties. Niklas is a musician who works with autistic children. Back then, they started their sabbatical in an old Mercedes Sprinter with an adventurous conversion. Now, two rescued puppies later and with a wealth of experience under their belts, they are heading back to Germany.

A spontaneous photo shooting at a car park near a beach. Simply in front of our buses. The lust for life and esprit of these two suddenly became visible in front of our camera.

We would like to thank Judith and Niklas from the bottom of our hearts for sharing their story with us for a short time.

Portrait shooting with Paul

Paul's life has been and is exciting, you can see that in his face. He is a true gentleman who came to Portugal from cold and wet Ireland. And he came to stay. His old school bus is black, the rust spots repaired with riveted metal sheets.

Paul was a blue jeans model, did cocaine with Lemmy Kilmister, once served time in prison for possessing weed and is currently writing a book. And he is a gifted cook. We sat together all night over delicious food and philosophised about life.

His charisma and life experience are reflected in all his pictures. His love of experimentation allowed us to try a wide variety of shoots, from full-body portraits to close-ups.

Paul's story has so many details that you have to get up close to discover them all. This shows in these expressive close-ups which were created in our bus.

Many thanks to Paul for his friendship and the wonderful time we spent together.

Beach shooting with Chiara

She is well-read, speaks several languages, and is very sophisticated. But there is also a dark side to Chiara. In the evening, while everyone else is still sitting together, she disappears into her bus for several hours. Why?

She's working! As a translator of texts for ego shooters. Well before the computer games come onto the market, she knows the story and the respective texts inside out.

We wanted a very special setting for the portrait of this interesting Italian woman. The right beach, the right weather, the right light. On the west coast of Portugal we found what we were looking for, but waiting for the right weather conditions was testing our patience. In the end, it took around 4 weeks to find the ideal conditions.

But it was worth it. When evaluating the photos, Chiara told us that we had chosen her favourite beach. Sometimes everything just fits nicely together.

Many thanks to Chiara and all those who contributed to the creation of these photos.
